Instructor Bio
Jeremy Rose commenced his martial arts training at the age of five under the guidance of Andrew Pilch, who was operating the American Kenpo Karate Academy (AKKA).
Throughout his life, Mr. Rose has demonstrated exceptional aptitude and intelligence. As with many young individuals possessing the potential for greatness, Mr. Rose was known for his tendency to challenge conventional norms. During his high school years, his abilities were effectively channeled and directed toward a productive purpose when he was inducted into the teaching staff. It was evident from the outset that Mr. Rose had a profound passion for teaching.
Upon graduating from high school, Mr. Rose continued his teaching endeavors by instructing Kenpo Karate programs for local middle and elementary charter schools in Tucson.
At the age of 19, Mr. Rose was appointed as a full-time Kenpo Karate instructor for BASIS of Tucson, a charter school, as part of their Physical Education curriculum. Mr. Rose’s extensive athletic background, nurtured throughout childhood, has paved the way for the acquisition of additional coaching responsibilities.
To this day, Mr. Rose continues to refine his teaching abilities, becoming one of the most sought-after mentors a martial arts student could seek. His extensive knowledge of the system and his approachable demeanor have made him an invaluable advisor to both students and other instructors seeking to grasp martial arts concepts at a profound level.
Throughout his tenure as an instructor and particularly as a Program Director, Mr. Rose has made significant contributions by assisting in the refinement and editing of the AIK curriculum.
Mr. Rose has been actively engaged in advanced sparring classes since adolescence and has consistently demonstrated proficiency in boxing, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts. His competitive spirit, coupled with his aptitude for acquiring and applying new knowledge, renders him an invaluable and exceptionally demanding training partner for individuals seeking a mutually beneficial sparring experience.
In 2020, alongside Mr. Kalos, Mr. Rose commenced coaching advanced sparring, with the intention of assisting students in effectively applying their fundamental principles in a tactical manner. While Mr. Pilch continues to actively participate in the advanced sparring classes, Mr. Rose, along with Mr. Kalos, assumes the responsibility of developing class plans and training regimens to enhance the students’ performance.
Mr. Rose, who was virtually raised in Mr. Pilch’s school, is honored to be integrated into the Kenpo community of the American Institute of Kenpo.
